of Clinton and its history. There are many pictures that have

Society and follows the history of the cities of Clinton and Lyons
from 1835 to the present. It features many of the events, places
and people who have made, and are making, the city of Clinton
what it has become.

The Clinton County Historical Society was
established in 1965 to promote and preserve the history of Clinton
County.
All activities are open to the public.
Persons interested in local and regional history are encouraged
to join the Society. Activities are held monthly throughout
the year along with an annual meeting.
Location
The Clinton Co. Historical Museum and Library
is in downtown Clinton at 601 South 1st Street. It one half
block west of the southern end of Riverview Dr. Hours are Monday-Friday
9 a.m. to 11 a.m, Saturday and Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Special
tours at other times by prior arrangement.
The Clinton County Historical Museum has a
research library which is open to the public during Museum hours.
Information and photographs of Clinton County history are available.
Research requests are always welcom and will be answered in
the order they are received. We do not charge for our research,
however, we request a donation for copies, postage and time
spent. The donations are appreicated and help keep the museum
open and running.

Museum
The purpose of the Museum is to preserve and
interpret historical artifacts which have been donated to the
museum by the public.
Included in the collection are many historical
documents and photographs along with other items used in various
exhibits.
The Clinton County Historical Society is an
all-volunteer organization. Volunteers are always needed
and welcomed. Please contact the CCHS at 242-1201 for
more info.
Membership Info
Membership in the Clinton County Historical
Society is open to anyone with an interest in history.
Annual dues are Individual: $10; Family: $15; Supporting: $25
or more; and Patron $100 or more. All members receive
a society newsletter, museum and society activity notice and
annual meeting invitation. The Clinton County Historical
Society is a non-profit organization and donations are tax-deductible.

Clinton Genies Newsletter
The Clinton County Historical
Society Research Library publishes "Clinton Genies,"
a quarterly genealogy newsletter researched from our museum
library archives. The cost is $6/year and each issue runs about
10 pages full of Clinton county people and events.

Pioneer Certificates
The Clinton County Historical Society is now offering
Pioneer Certificates to anyone who would like to document their
early history in Clinton County. Two certificates are offered
- one to honor pioneers before 1850 and on to honor pioneers
before 1890. Each certificate is individually made with the
name of the descendant, the name of the pioneer and the signature
of the president of the Clinton County Historical Society. The
cost is $5 - 2.50 S&H..
