Camp Franklin, Sept. 12, 1862
Dear Times: I sent you a list of the officers and privates names in Captain Drips' company, 27th Regiment, Iowa Volunteers. We number 98 men, rank and file, and there are still more to come in, who enlisted some time since.

The company feel under many obligations for copies of the mcGregor papers, which come regularly. We all hope to see our McGregor friends before we leave here.

From present appearances we shall remain until after the State Fair, which will afford all a fine chance to see their friends and witness the largest number of troops ever got together before in this State.
