Peoples Electric Service Co. - 1922

On Monday the management of the Elkader Light & Power Co. was taken over by the officers of the newly elected Peoples Electric Service Co. of Elkader, with a permissable capital stock of $750,000. Their elected officers are:

The company is made up largely of business men and farmers from the territory supplied by the Elkader plant, who decided to keep the control of the business in local hands rather than see it go to some foreign corporation. It is expected that considerable improvements will be made in the Elkader plant as soon as possible and that their other power site near Elkport will be developed later.

Elkader passed through the past year without a single fire of any consequence, only one "still alarm" being made. Fred Rodas was elected as a member of the company.
