George Russell was born in the State of New York, on June 16, 1833. When he was nineteen years old he came to Clayton County, and settled in Boardman Township, where he owns a fine farm of 165 acres. In October, 1855, he was united in marriage with Mary F. Baker, who was born in New York, Sept. 9, 1835. They have four children, Franklin G., born Sept.3, 1860; Charles L., Sept. 23, 1862; Katie Ann, April 8, 1865; and Joliet, Jan. 25, 1869. Mr. Russell is extensively engaged in farming and stock raising, and makes a specialty of breeding blooded stock. He is a strong supporter of the Republican party. source: History of Clayton
