Lewis Danner
, a native of the Kingdom of Wirtemberg, Germany, born in 1806; came to the United States in 1836, landing at New York, thence to Pennsylvania, where he remained until 1852, and then came to Clayton County, Ia. He at once settled on his present farm on section 8, Millville Township, which consists of 120 acres of good land, and finely cultivated. He was married in Pennsylvania in 1840, to Mary Sincely, who was born in Germany, in 1819. Eight children have blessed this union-- Catherine, born in 1844; Jacob, in 1846; Sarah, in 1848; Sophia, in 1850; John, in 1852; George, 1854; Hannah, in 1856, and Melinda, in 1860. Mr. Danner is a member of the Lutheran church. Politically he favors the Democratic party.
