August Dahl
, farmer and stock-raiser, is a son of Peter and Anna (Schroeder) Dahl, natives of Mecklenburg, Germany. In 1851 they came to American and located in Garnavillo Township, Clayton County, and now reside in Farmersburg Township. August was born June 10, 1854. He has always engaged in farming and now owns about 200 acres of prairie and timber land, most all under excellent cultivation. He resides on section 32. He was married on March 17, 1882, to Sophia, daughter of Christopher and Mary (Soskey) Hornock, natives of Germany; they came to Clayton County, Ia., about 1857, and still reside here. Mr. Dahl votes the Democratic ticket, and is one of the representative farmers of Clayton County, and a man well respected in the community in which he lives.
