Hans Christenson
was born near Lillehammer, Norway, June 18, 1824. His
parents were Christian and Anna (Hoveland) Aunnud, who
had two sons, Hans being the oldest. He was married on
Dec. 10, 1849, to Olivia Halverson. To them have been
born seven children, viz.: Andrew H., who married Nettie
Peterson; Nettie, wife of John Larson; Hannah H., John
H., Thomas H., Mary H. and Christian. One died in
infancy. Mr. Christenson emigrated to the United States
in July, 1857, and came at once to Clayton County. He
settled first in Read Township, where he resided three
years, then located on his present farm in Boardman
Township. It consists of eighty acres of choice land,
under good cultivation, and is one of the finest farms in
this section of the county. Mr. and Mrs. Christenson are
members of the Lutheran church, and in politics he is a
