          When this column has a + symbol, it means there are more children.
          When the following letters are in the Child  columns it means:
                  M/Name – Mother
                  F/Name – Father
                  B/Name – Brother
                  S/Name – Sister
                  N/Name – Niece
                  G/Name – Grandmother
                  Gr/Name – Grandchildren
                  SB/Name – Step Brother

• Township Column

• Section Column
  They either owned land or rented land in this section.
• Owner Column
      Yes means they owned the land and rent means they rented the land.
      Owners not living on the farm has no family information.
• Years Column
      This is the amount of years they lived in Clay County.
• Other information found in this directory
      It lists the Post Office town.
      It lists, in some cases, the name of the farm and if they were breeders certain hogs,
      cattle or chickens.
