Marlus (Mike) Pedersen, son of Jorgen and Karen Marie Pedersen, was born at Veddum, Denmark, June 22, 1891 and died July 30, 1955 at Osceola, Iowa. He came to America at the age of 17 and later became a citizen of this country. On December 23, 1914, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Roberts of Eliston, Iowa and they had five children: George, Gerald, Mildred Morris, Marie Diehl and Irene. Also surviving him were three brothers, Jens, John and Andy of Denmark, and one sister, Jorgene Pedersen of Denmark. Burial was at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Osceola, lowa.
Anna C. (Carse) Ridinger, daughter of John and Margaret Carse, was born near Fairfield, Iowa, April 7, 1861 and died at her home in Murray, March 1, 1959. She was married to Samuel M. Ridinger in 1882. To them five children were born. Her husband and three children preceded her in death. They were: Mrs. May Hamm; Charlie Ridinger and Raymond Ridinger. There are two daughters remaining: Mrs. Nellie Watson and Mrs. Amy Middleton; also one sister, Ethel Carse of Ottumwa, Iowa. Mrs. Riddinger joined the Christian Church at Hopeville when a young woman and later transferred her membership to the Church of Christ at Murray. In 1890, February 23rd, Mr. and Mrs. Ridinger moved their family from Jefferson County to Clarke County where she has since made her home. She was buried In Murray Cemetery.
John Woods was born October 13, 1821 in Pennsylvania and died October 7, 1900 in Clarke County, Iowa. Just when he came to Doyle Township, has never been established. He took out a marriage license to marry October 26, 1842, apparently in Ohio, to Elizabeth A. Gates, born April 16, 1821 Ohio, and died May 13, 1898 Doyle Township. Both are buried in Gregg Cemetery. They became the parents of seven children: 1.-Catherine Woods born about 1844 m. Story, lived in Hoover, Arkansas. 2.-John H. Woods b. Sept. 19, 1846 Ohio, died Nov. 26, 1937 Clarke Co., Iowa, m. 1st Cordelia A. Grow 1866 Hopeville, Ia., she died April 10, 1903, 9 ch: (William, John, Charles, Rotanna, Harris, Thomas, Sarah, Benjamin, David B.), he m. 2nd in 1906 to Louise E. Akers. 3.-Susanna Woods m. Archibauld Thompson Fullerton, son of Thomas and Eleanor Thompson Fullerton, 4 ch: (James, George, Ward, Pearl). 4.-Benjamin C. Woods, lived Lowery City, Missouri. 5.-David T. Woods m. Dorothea Ellen Boles (an account elsewhere in this sketch). 6.-Margaret E. A. Woods (1860-1862). 7.-Isaac Martin Woods b. about 1862 lived Hopeville, Iowa in 1900.
David T. Woods, son of John and Elizabeth A. (Gates) Woods, 1857-1933) married Dorothea Ellen Boles (1858-1932), daughter of William and Sarah (Gilmore) Boles. They lived most of their married lives on a farm in Doyle Township, and raised a large family... one son and seven daughters. Both are buried in Wheelis Cemetery.

Mary Boles Ramsey, daughter of William and Sarah (Gilmore) Boles, from a family of eleven children who were raised west of Van Wert, Iowa.., had children who married into native Doyle Township families, married Benton Ramsey. They had eight children:

Margaret Simmerman, 5 ch: (Lloyd, Harold, Aubrey, Lowell, Worth). 7.-Farry Ramsey m. 1st Lou Simmerman, 2 oh: (Hoyle, Mary), m. 2nd Jonathan O. Jones. 8.-Addie Ramsey, m. James O'Hair, 1 ch: (James).
Alvin Alamoines Davis, son of William and Elizabeth (Culclasure) Davis, was born April 9, 1883 in Redlime, Shelby County, Iowa and died October 7, 1939, Clarke County, Iowa. He was united in marriage October 7, 1914 Shelby County, Iowa to Sina Larson, daughter of Jens and Margaret Elizabeth Larson, born September 21, 1889 in Lynby, Denmark and died November 21, 1979 Clarke County, Iowa. Also in her family were two brothers, Rudolph and Corwell. She left Denmark in 1908 for America aboard the famous ship, the Titanic, and traveled to Nebaska to the home of her half brother, Martin Anderson. Alvin and Sina with their two sons came to the Hopevilie area in 1933, where six years later Alvin died. Sina, in later years, made her home with son Glen. Both are buried in the Hopeville Cemetery. Their sons:
