Abner and Sarah Jane Brown Warrick

Abner Warrick, son of Robert and Martha (Hatfield) Warrick, was born in Tennessee in 1846, and died May 16, 1918. He came with his family to Iowa in 1851, grew to manhood on the family farm in Doyle Township, and married Sarah Jane Brown, daughter of Joseph and Hulda Brown, whom had moved to Decatur County from Jackson County, Indiana in 1852. Born 1846 in Jackson County, Indiana, she died December 23, 1930, is buried in Warrick Cemetery beside her husband Abner. They became the parents of 10 children: Susie b. Oct. 19, 1872 m. Frank Nydia; Wes b. Mar. 5, 1873 m. Edna Munyon; Henry b. July 20, 1874 m. Watie Stubbs; HuIda and Della, twins, d. 1875 in infancy; Ike b. Dec. 8, 1879 m. Dora; Mary b. May 11, 1882 m. 1st Will Moroff who d. 1967, 2nd Jim Holder; Joe b. May 12, 1884 m. Lydia Hall; Nora b. Aug. 2, 1886 m. Cane Hall; Laura b. Aug. 2, 1887 (twin to Nora) m. Adrian Stubbs; Linda b. Jan 30, 1892 m. Elmer Lee.

Adrian Stubbs, son of William Patten and Mary C. (McGirr) Stubbs, was born December 19, 1875, Clarke County, Iowa, and died January 15, 1959. He was united in mariage to Laura Warrick, daughter of Abner and Sarah Jane (Brown) Warrick, and to this union were born sixteen children( (Adrian farmed and worked at logging for Bill Akes many years.)

Hugh Syth; Bennie m, Maxine Graham; Belva m. Robert Lewis; Taylor m. Lyle McElwee.

William Patten Stubbs, son of Iddo and Mary (Patten) Stubbs, was born January 3, 1828 in Belmont County, Ohio, and died March 3, 1903 Decatur County, Iowa. He married in 1849 to Mary C. McGirr., b. June 6, 1832 in Ohio and died March 6, 1903. Buried in Gregg Chapel Cemetery, Clarke County, Iowa. Of Quaker descendants, they came to this country in about 1852 from Washington County, Ohio, settling near the Warrick family in Richland Township, Decatur County. They had eleven children:

Elizabeth Stubbs d. infancy 1851, buried Quaker Cemetery, Washington County, Ohio.

Nathaniel Stubbs b. June 1852, d. Mar. 31, 1934, m. Lucy Cleveland, daughter of George William Cleveland. She was b. April 1855, Wisconsin, d. 1925 Iowa. 11 ch: (Adrian, Alfred, Pearl C., Theodore, Waite, Delmont, May, Winifred, Iddo N., Zilpha, Walter).
