JOHN GEORGE KROUSE

John G Krouse, residence Jones County, Iowa.  Enlisted December 17, 1862 into the 14th Iowa Infantry, Company B and served as a Private until he was discharged on 14 February 1863.  He was discharge after his widowed Mother sent a letter to the state that he was under age at the time of enlistment. 

 

On October 30, 1863 he enlisted as a Bugler and was assigned to company K of the 9th Iowa Cavalry.  He served to February 3, 1866 and was mustered out in Little Rock, AR.  In June of 1890 he applied for a service pension and in November 1890 it was approved and payments commenced.  In March of 1920, notification was sent to terminate his pension due to his death.

 

He was born on March 4, 1846 in Kane County, Illinois and died on February 2, 1920.  On March 11, 1868 he married Jane E Wasson in Wyoming, Jones County, Iowa.  Their children were John Grant, William G, Mabel J and Daisy Jane.  His wife Jane was born December 7, 1843 in Amboy, Oswego County, New York and died February 2, 1903 in Onslow, Jones County, Iowa.

 

John married Marion A Davis on November 9, 1906 in Monticello, Jones County, Iowa.
