Warren Wm. Rose (Veteran.) Age 27. Residence Calhoun, nativity New York. Enlisted Nov. 22, 1861. Mustered Dec. 13, 1861. Promoted Fifth Sergeant Aug. 22, 1862; Second Sergeant Dec. 28, 1862. Reduced to ranks Nov. 3, 1863. Re-enlisted and re-mustered Jan. 29, 1864.  Promoted Fourth Sergeant Jan. 27, 1864. Wounded in head July 22, 1864, Atlanta, Ga. In 2006, Dr. A. Patrick Rose wrote a book of the experiences of his great-grandfather and Company H of the 15th Iowa Infantry.  The book, "Sergeant Rose and the 15th Iowa in The War of The Rebellion", is available at the
Davis Library, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; The State Library of Iowa in Des Moines; and the Harrison County Historical Society, Iowa.
