REIER SWENDSON (aka ROBERT SWENSON)
7th Iowa Cavalry Co. H
He was born in 1844, lived until twelve years of age in Norway, then immigrated to
Iowa. He enlisted in the Reg. Iowa Cavalry for over two years. Mr. Swendson
migrated to Fillmore county and that was his home until 1874 when he came to
Normania, He has had held different town offices and was postmaster at
Stavenger. He married in 1866 to Julia Thompson.
