Know ye, that Joseph C. Walker a Artificer of
Captain P. H. Goodes Company (4th) Iowa Regiment of Independent
Battery Volunteer , who was enrolled on the Sixth day of August one
thousand eight hundred and sixty three to serve three years or
during the war is hereby discharged from the service of the United
States this Fourteenth day of July 1865, at Davenport, Iowa by
reason of S. O. No 170 Hd 2n Dept. of Gulf dated June 26th 1865.
(No objection to his being re-enlisted is known
to exist*)
Said Joseph C. Walker was born in Swetzerland
Co in the State of Indiana, is thirty five years of age, five feet
five inches high, fair complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, and by
occupation, whenever enrolled a Blacksmith.
Given at Davenport, Iowa this fourteenth day of
July 1865.
