Know ye that Don Carlos Voyt private of
Captain Marquis L. Andrews Company (B) 29 Regiment of Iowa Infantry
Volunteer's who was enrolled on the twenty sixth day of December one
thousand and eight hundred and 63 to serve three years or during
the war is hereby discharged from the service of the United States
this tenth day of August 1865 at New Orleans, Louisiana by reason of
services being no longer required (No objection to his being
re-enlisted is know to exist*).
Said Don Carlos Voyt was born in Hancock County
in the state of Illinois, is 18 years of age, six feet four inches
high, dark complexion, black eyes, black hair and by occupation when
enrolled a farmer .
Given at New Orleans this tenth day of August
1865
