EVELYN FAABERG FUNERAL SERVICES HELD SUNDAY
Born Feb. 15, 1908. Died Nov. 23, 1939
Stricken With Infantile Paralysis When A Child

CRANE CREEK - Evelyn Oveda Faaberg was born at St. Paul, Minnesota, February 15, 1908. She was the only child of Ole Faaberg and wife Anna (Halvorson) Faaberg. She died Nov, 23 at the New Hampton Hospital at the age of 31 years, 9 months and 8 days.

When she was three weeks old, her mother passed away. She came to Iowa with her father and her grandmother, Mrs. Halvorson, with whom she lived until her grandmother died.

In 1923 she moved to New Hampton with her Aunts, Celia and Helena Halvorson. She made her home with them until her death. Evelyn Faaberg was stricken with infantile paralysis when a young child. She was partly paralyzed and she suffered much for many years. She was patient and appreciative of all the kindnesses shown by relatives and friends. During her last illness her relatives and Pastor Rev. Finstad, were at her bedside constantly.

Celia and Helena Halvorson have spared neither themselves, time nor money to aid Evelyn in the pursuit of health. They had her baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Evelyn enjoyed to listen to station WCAL, St. Olaf college, Northfield, for religious meditation. She personally gave a donation to that station before her death. She was always a member of the Crane Creek church.

Her funeral was held Sunday afternoon, services at the Halvorson home at 2 o'clock, and at 2:30 at the Crane Creek Lutheran church, by her pastor Rev. Finstad

A ladies' chorus sang "Abide With Me", "Nearer My God To Thee" at the services at the church.

There were many floral offerings and donations to the work of the Lutheran church, Mrs. LET'S Lewison and Irene Gordon had charge of the flowers.

Her casket was borne by Clarence Gordon, Edward Uglum, Alve Robinson, Walter Dreckman, Alve and Erwin Ellingson. She was laid to rest beside her mother. Relatives from a distance at the funeral Sunday were Oliver and Mattie Reno and Andrew and John Reno of Terrill, Iowa.

Death Ends Long Suffering

Mrs. Orva Falls, who had been ill for many months, passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kuntz, Monday morning.

About a year ago she contracted a cold which was her death blow, for the ravages of consumption soon fastened its hold upon her, and day by day she slowly faded.

The deceased was but 22 years of age. Life was very dear to her and she clung to the hope of getting well, until finally she realized that sooner or later she must give up her hold on all that was precious to her in this world, and it was then that she cheerfully resigned her will to that of One higher, and awaited the summons Home. She was a young woman with a sweet and gentle disposition and it is said that all through her long months of suffering she never complained. She was accomplished and was an excellent pianist.

Miss Enola Kuntz was born near Nashua 22 years ago, and a little over two years ago was united to Mr. Orva Falls, in marriage who mourns her untimely death.

The funeral was held at the home Wednesday at 1 p.m., and the remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.

PAULINE (ALBERTSON) FRAZEE

Nashua Reporter
6 July 1922

Mrs. J. O. Frazee Called

Bassett Mother Dies at Hospital in
Waverly June 28th—Funeral
Service Last Saturday.

Pauline Albertson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fernando Albertson, was born at Chickasaw, Chickasaw county, Iowa, October 29, 1872, and died June 28, 1922 at Mercy Hospital, Waverly, Iowa, at the age of 49 years, 7 months and 29 days.

Her childhood days were spent on a farm south of Bassett. On August 26, 1901, she was united in marriage to J. O. Frazee. They resided on a farm north of Bassett I=until about three years ago when they moved to Bassett on account of her failing health. Everything that loving hands and medical aid could do was done to relieve her suffering, but to no avail. God’s will be done.

To this union one daughter, Gertrude May, who, with her father, is left to battle through life without the love and care of a wife and mother. Besides the husband and daughter, she is mourned by one sister, Mrs. Willard Barrett of Bassett, and many other relatives and friends. Her mother, two sisters and one brother having preceded her. She was a loving wife and mother, a kind friend and neighbor and will be greatly missed in the community where she has lived all her life.

“Life, we’ve been long together.
Through bright or cloudy weather:
’Tis hard to part when friends are dear.
Perhaps ‘twill cause a sigh, a tear:
Then steal away, give little warning.
And bid us not goodnight.
But in some fairer clime
Bid us good morning.

Funeral services were held at the Community Church in Bassett, Saturday, July 1, at 2:30, burial being at Mt. Carroll cemetery.

The Royal Neighbors had charge of the ceremonies and Rev. Caldwell of Clear Lake officiated.

The floral offering was magnificent, the casket being covered with the most beautiful flowers donated by friends and the Royal Neighbors of which order she was an active member. The pallbearers were all members of the local camp of the R. N. A. being Mesdames C. J. Miller, G. F. Mevers, C. S. Warner, Wm. Sisson, Thomas Carey and C. B. T. Young.
