October 1955 Centennial Edition Twenty-seven men have served Nashua as mayor since the first mayor was elected in 1869. Some of the same 27 also have served as town clerk. T. S. Bradford was the first mayor, being elected in 1869. He later was elected to begin other terms in 1877, 1881 and 1890. He also was town clerk from 1870 to 1872. E. S. Weeks was elected mayor at two different intervals, first in 1892 and again in 1902. C. H. (Mike) Knight was mayor in terms beginning in 1942 and again in 1948. He also served well on the town council. The Mayor of Nashua in its Centennial year is V. L. (Bud) Strike, who was elected in 1950 and is still in office. (BUD) Strike (picture was included in article) is the Mayor of Nashua in its Centennial year of 1955. He has been in office since 1950. Mayor Strike devotes a great deal of time to the affairs of the town, and assisted greatly in the Centennial observance. In private business, he is Standard Oil bulk station agent for this vicinity.
