Zwanziger Family Reunion; One Hundred and Thirty of the Clan Gathered at Fair Grounds Thursday in First Reunion-The first Zwanziger family reunion was held in the Nashua Fair Grounds Thursday, June 22.  Four generations were represented.  The oldest now living is Mrs. Catherine Dietz, nearly seventy four years.  The youngest member present was Robert, four months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Eckenrod.  This reunion brought together the descendants of Michael and Catherine Zwanziger.  They have had seven children, fifty grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.  Of these there were one hundred thirty who met at the reunion.  Every one of them did justice to the bountiful picnic dinner which was served cafeteria style in the dining hall.  Such a repast! The ladies forgot nothing, bringing everything from chicken to fresh strawberries.  After the dinner a short program was given and officers elected for the second reunion, which will be held Wednesday, June 20, 1923.  After the ball game in which the married men defeated the young men 16 to 11, ice cream and cake was served to all.  Those who were present were Mike Zwanziger and family, Will Zwanziger and family, Will Zwanziger , jr and family, Ed Zwanziger and family, George Deitz and family, H. Barber and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Eckenrod and and son Harvey, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Eckenrod and Marjorie, Mrs. George Kraft, Leonard Eckenrod and family, Cecil Allison and family, George Fiene and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fiene, Mr. and Mrs. Will Stevens,.Mrs. Ed Mellman and children, Mrs. George Walsh and daughter, Lew Moine and family, Lew Lange and family, Will Brown and family, Mrs. Chris Lange and Lenora, all of near Nashua.  Those from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Zwanziger and daughter, Muskogee, Okla.; Mrs. Addie Breckenridge and daughter, Mrs. Ida Good, Mrs. Lizzie Leaman and daughter Miss Bessie, Mr. and Mrs. George Zwanziger, sr., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Zwanziger, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Zwanziger and daughter, all of Waterloo; Mrs. Ellen Zwanziger, Mrs. Mamie Blain and Charles Barber, of Waverly; Mr. and Mrs. Reed Carpenter and sons, Howard Zwanziger and family Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Storing, Will Dietz and family of near Horton and Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin of Tripoli.

Cagley Family Reunion-The annual reunion of the Cagley families was held last Thursday at the Nashua fair grounds and it was some gathering, from all reports.  About one hundred of the clan were present and the day was spent in feasting and visiting and indulging in festivities of various kinds.  The day was ideal and everyone had a fine time.  The attendance from a distance was not as large as at some of the former reunions, most of the relatives being from the neighboring towns of Plainfield, Horton, Ionia and Chickasaw.  Mr. and Mrs. Sam Titus and Mrs. Will Burrell, of Urbana, and H. C. Cuffel of Greene were present, along with the local relatives.  Officers elected for the coming year were: President: Jacob Cagley, Horton; Secretary: Robert Cagley, Plainfield; Treasurer: Mina Ernwine, Nashua

Lynes Family Reunion-The Lynes family reunion was held at the picnic grounds between Plainfield and Horton last Saturday, June 24.  About sixty were present, the number not coming up to the usual attendance, but the feast that was spread before them surpassed all expectations.  An elaborate dinner was served at noon and refreshments of ice cream and cake later in the day.  The different places represented included Waterloo, Waverly, Horton, Plainfield, Jesup, Nashua, Charles City, New Hartford, Chicago and Utica, N. Y.  A feature of sadness on this occasion was word from a sister, Mrs. Mamie Ham, of Boston, that she had buried her youngest son the day previous to the gathering.  A vote was taken for a contribution towards purchasing a marker for the grave of one of the older relatives.  The reunion next year is to be held at Jesup, the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Blasier.

Strike Family Reunion--There was a reunion of the Strike family at Idlewild Park, Charles City, Sunday, when about fifty members of this family enjoyed a picnic dinner.  The only thing that occurred to mar the pleasure of the reunion was the absence of F. B. Strike and family, of New Hampton, the instigators of the event, who, after starting for Charles City, met with auto trouble and were obliged to return home.  Relatives from Charles City, Nashua, Republic, Mitchell, Cedar Falls and Texas were assembled.

Tracy Family in Reunion-The Tracy family held their annual reunion last Sunday in the Tracy woods south of Nashua.  A big picnic dinner was the event of the day and the hours were pleasantly spent in visiting.  Out of town members of the family in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tracy, of Chicago; and Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Conea and two children of St. Ansgar.  About sixty were present.

Picnic of the Carter Clan--Grandma Phoebe Carter will be ninety-seven years old on her next birthday, and last Sunday ninety two of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren met with her at the Ripley Bridge for a picnic.  With the exception of five families, all live in the vicinity of Nashua and Charles City.  A fine picnic dinner was served and a good time was had by all.  The ninety two who were present on this happy occasion are the direct descendent of Grandma Carter and five generations in direct line were in attendance.  It is surely a remarkable record and we doubt if it can be equaled in the state.

Thomas Family Reunion; Thirteenth Annual Meeting of Family Held at Greene Tuesday August 22d  The thirteenth annual reunion of the Thomas family was held Tuesday, Aug. 22, when the various members of this group met at Round Grove, near Greene.  Although the morning dawned with a heavy fog and every indication of a rain, they all gathered and lucky for those present, no rain came. One by one the older ones are being called to the Great Beyond.  Only two of the original ones were able to be present this year, Mrs. Martha Robinson and Mrs. Belle Tracy, both of Nashua.  The time will soon be here when the younger generation will have to keep up this gathering, but we sincerely hope that the chain of relatives may not be broken before August 22, 1923, the time we are all looking forward to already.  During the forenoon games of horseshoe and ball occupied the time of both young and old.  When the dinner bell rang all were on tap for the spring chicken and that goes to make up a good picnic dinner.  The younger folks found to their surprise that it was   up to them to wait on the tables this year.  This greatly pleased the boys, for they were numbered with the lucky ones, too.  After dinner the group scattered, some to play ball, others horseshoe and still others to play croquet and other games.  But when Frank Knight appeared with the ice cream all games and visits were forgotten for a while and everybody did their share towards keeping it from melting.  At this time letters were read from relatives who were unable to be present; one from a brother, Newton, and word from the only sister away, Anna Fuller, and several others from cousins were also read.  As evening began to put in its appearance, the merry group began to separate, all going to their various homes.  Seventy three were present and the names were as follows: Mrs. S. Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Stevens, of Greene; Mr. and Mrs. Will Robinson, Hazel, Edith and Zenas, and Mrs. Belle Tracy, Marie and Beth, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hammond, Max, Glen, Lorraine, Clair and Elna of Nashua; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tracy, Leon Merton, Mary Anne, Kathryn, Osage; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Bowman and Robert of Madison, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Knight, Anna Frey, Emma, Frances of Brazil, S. A.; Mr. and Mrs. James Gibson and Vivian of Greene; Mrs. Will Wilder, LuVerne and Gladys of Aredale; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Freeman, Lucille, Carroll, Claudia and Faith, of Greene; Mr. and Mrs. Art Thomas, Lloyd, Mildred, Ruth, Ira and Marguerite of Greene;  Mr. and Mrs. Henry Teeple, Carlton, Charlie, Francis, Elsie and Wilma Mae of Greene; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Thomas, Vearle, Teddy and Ray of Clarksville; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Knight, Francis, Tommy and Kenneth of Greene, and also two visitors, one expressing his desire to be one of us in the future.

Hanneman Family Reunion-The first annual reunion of the Hanneman families was held at the fair grounds on Sunday, Sept. 17, and was attended by about 26 members of the family and 10 friends.  Of course the main feature of the day was a big dinner of fried chicken with all the trimmings and every other good thing imaginable in the "eats" line., topped off with big, fat pumpkin pies.  The afternoon was spent by the younger folks playing football, baseball and other games, while the men pitched horseshoes and the women visited.  The dinner was served in the dining hall under the ampitheater, as the day was rather chilly, and there was enough left from that dinner so that all remained at the grounds for supper.  It is planned to make this gathering of the Hanneman relatives an annual affair and it is anticipated that the attendance will be much larger at future reunions.
