Cagley Reunion-The fourth annual reunion of the Cagley families was held at the fair grounds at Nashua, Aug. 14, at whic  150 Cagleys and relatives were present from Chickaaw and adjoining counties.  The day was fine and everyone enjoyed the picnic dinner, after which they did ample justice to 15 fgallons of ice cream, furnished by H. R. Smith and Co., of Charles City.  The crowd then adjourned to the ampitheater and the following officers were elected for the coming year: President, Jake Cagley, Horton; Secreatry, Fred Gallager, Plainfield; Treasurer, David Hines, Ionia.  Letters were read from M. L. Cagley, Hoquian, Wash., Sarah Ryker, Aurora, Mo.; Susan Sherwood, Troutdale, Ore., W. L. The Annual Thomas Reunion--The annual reunion of the Thomas family was held at the old homestead, two miles south of Nashua, last Friday, Aug. 22.  Seven of the eleven brothers and sisters were present to enjoy the event.  In all there were about fifty present.  Those from far away were: Mrs. Lester Holmes and two children, of Esterville; Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Knight, Mr. and  Mrs. Frank Knight, G. C. Thomas, Sam Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Teeple and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gibson and children, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Freeman and children, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Stevens and Harold, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Richards, all of Greene.  The day was spent in playing the game of horseshoe and enjoying the music furnished by Mert Sommers and members of the Thomas family.  An noon the great event of the day, a large picnic dinner, was served and during the afternoon ice cream and cake helped to take up the joyous moments.  During the afternoon letters were read from several of the absent members.  One of the features of the reunion is the swimming in the "old swimmin' hole," in the Cedar river, near the old homestead.  This is probably the most enjoyed of all events of the day.  As the day began to draw to a close the various families returned to their homes, and all will now be looking forward to the 1914 reunion.

Potter Family Reunion-The annual reunion of the Potter family was held at the fair grounds last Saturday, at which there were about fifty present, all living with a radius of 10 miles.  Like other picnics, the main feature of the occasion was the immense picnic dinner, and everyone present was just hungry enough to get away with his or her full share of the good things to eat.  The afternoon was put in by the men smoking and swapping yarns or indulging in sports, while the women enjoyed themselves visiting.  The children likewise took care of themselves in the playing of games.  One of the good features about these Potter reunions is that somebody "always gets a present".  Mr. and Mrs. Will Branch, of Charles City, were the lucky ones, their present being a beautiful golden oak library table, which will materially add to the attractiveness of their home.

From the New Hampton Tribune: Annual Reunion of the Wesps--The Wesp family held their annual reunion at the Silas DeGroff home south of town on Saturday, Oct. 25, 1913.  It is customary with these people to hold this gathering at Thanksgiving time, but relatives from away being here at this time, the reunion was held a little early.  Those present were: Mrs. and Mrs. John Wesp, of Anoka, Minn.; Sam and Phil Wesp, and families, of Fredericksburg; Joseph Wesp, of Republic; Bert Orms and family and Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Wesp of this city; Mrs. Chas. Wesp  and children of Grundy Center, Mr. and Mr.s Frank Homax, Fredericksburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Usher, of Republicm and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Howard and family who moved here from Sterling, Colo.  This annual event reunion, feasting and jollification of the Wesps is one looked forward to by these loyal sons and daughters.  The family is one of the most respected and prominent in the county.  Their friends will wish for them many returns of this happy occasion together.
