FAMILY REUNIONS
NASHUA REPORTER
1907

Happy Family Runion-There was a happy family reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Waite Saturday, the occasion being the 15th or crystal anniversary of their marriage.  The chief feature, of course, was an elegant supper served by Mrs. Waite, after which the evening was spent in pleasant conversation.  The parents and sisters of Mr. and Mrs. Waite were present, the out of towns guests being Mrs. Kate McRoberts and children and Mrs. Melvin ----is and baby of Charles City, and Mrs. H. H. West, of Elgin, Ill.

Reunions of Lynes Relatives--According to a custom that was adopted last year by the Lyne relatives, the majority of whom live in Plainfield, that they enjoy a reunion each year, they all met at the home of H. M. Peterson, one mile northwest of Nashua, Saturday.  There were also about sixty of the relatives present who had came from Waterloo, Plainfield, Waverly, Horton and Charles City, to join the relatives at this place.  There were also present some who had come quite a distance to attend this gathering who were as follows:  Mrs. R. R. Thompson, of Baltic, S. D., Mr. and Mrs. Riley Phillips and daughter, Celia, and Chas. Phillips and family, of Milan, Tenn.  A long table had been erected in the yard and it was planned to serve a picnic dinner but the inclemency of the weather necessitated their partaking of the repast under shelter.  It is needless to say that a splendid dinner was served and that everyone did justice to it.  Immediately after dinner the guests assembled out of doors and a picture of the group was taken.  The afternoon's program closed with recitations, vocal, instumental and gramaphone music.  It was a most happy occasion for all present.

Bradford-The families of Messrs. Jess, Deloss and I. E. Baldwin, Charles Phillips, of Tennessee and E. N. Lrkin held a reunion at the home of Storm Baldwin Sunday.

Family Reunion--There was a happy reunion of the J. W. Keyes' family at the home of Mrs. H. W. Couch Sunday, at which time there was not one member of the family missing.  It was a joyous occasion and will long linger in the memory of each one who was present.  An elaborate dinner had been prepared by Mrs. Keyes, which consisted of numerous dainty dishes that the mother knew so well would be relished by each one, and the guests certainly did justice to it.  Those present were Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Keyes, Harry, of Milwaukee, Fred, of St. Louis, Charles Keyes and family, of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Bumgardner, of Waterloo, and Mrs. Couch.

Family Gathering- There was a family reunion of the Walleser family Sunday at the home of Henry Walleser in honor of the homecoming of their son Joseph G. Walleser.  The gathering was principally to bring the family together that they might all have the pleasure of visiting with the son and brother who had been abroad for the past three years and who had so much of interest to tell them.  Those who were present aside from Mr. Walleser's family who are at home were the families of R. R. Waite and C. W. Thompson, and Melvin Ellis, of Charles City.

Potter Family Reunion--The nineteenth annual reunion of the Potter family occurred at the home of Lindon Potter, near Williamstown, Septl 14.  A beautiful day, a bounteous dinner, a cordial welcome from the host and hostess, and pleasant greetings from the assembled relatives made this yearly meeting one of the most pleasant.  Those present from out of state were: Mr. Cyrus Potter of Superior, Wis., Mrs. Locke Potter and son of Winifred, S. D., and Mrs. H. N. Crooks, formerly of Charles City but now of Pierre, S. D.  The committee of araangements surprised the company by calling an artist from New Hampton, who photographed the assembled crowd of over fifty relatives, who left as a reminder of the annual visit a beautiful bookcase.  It is not the gift that we prize so much (though of course we appreciate that) as it is the cordial good will, the sincere and heartfelt good wishes of those whom we meet at these reunions, and to, whom, if it were not for these annual recurrences, we would be strangers.  By "One of the crowd"
