LITTLE TURKEY CEMETERY
Utica Township
The abandoned cemetery is also called Methodist Cemetery. It is located just west of Little Turkey, Iowa; about 10.5 miles northeast of New Hampton at 3200 160th St. Nearest intersection is Vanderbilt Avenue and 160th Street.

Marge and Grant Hayes visited this cemetery in 1981. At that time it was in very sorry condition, tall weeds everywhere and some of the stones were broken off and lying on the ground. Cows had broken through barbed wire and wooden posts and knocked over stones. When the Hayes' returned in 1984, they were told that a Boy Scout Troop and their fathers had done what they could to rehabilitate the cemetery. It was trimmed up and all the stones were erect (some had been cemented together). So, a big hooray for the good deeds of the area Boy Scouts!

This list was compiled from WPA records from the late 1930's.
