The Octagon House

Charles and Carrie Rowley Hughes lived in the octagon house during the late 1800s and added the summer kitchen and a lean-to.

UNIQUE HOUSE OF stone at "Old Chickasaw" was built in octagon shape more than 100 years ago. Structurally sound, the walls of the house are more than 18 inches thick. Several of the blocks of limestone contain fossil imprints, adding to the character of the house, which can hardly be seen from the nearby road.
