These Mason City high chool basketball players, each named to the first team in Iowa Daily Press association all-state
selections announced Friday, saw themselves as others saw them in pictures and story in the Mason City Globe-Gazette.

Banquet for 5 Teams Will Be Held Monday Night in Hotel Hanford Arrangements have been completed for a rousing banquet at 6:30 o'clock Monday evening in Hotel Hanford in honor of five basketball teams. Special decorations honoring the state champions - the Mohawks in the boys' tournament and Hansell in the girls' tourney - have been planned for the Wedgewood room, according to Keith LeLacy, decorations chairman. In addition to the two championship teams, basketball players to be feted include Holy Family, class B, Dubuque diocsan winners; Junior College; and St. Joseph's. The snappy program will include brief talks by Louis Mnze, basketball coach at Iowa State college, and Supt. R. H. Bracewell of Buringling, introduction of players, talks by some of the coaches and music, supplied by the Chamber of Commerce chorus and a booster band. Reservations which have been made assured the banquet of a large, enthusiastic group of fans. The banquet is sponsored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Lions, Rotary and Kiwanis clubs and Chamber of Commerce. Transcription by Sharon R. Becker, April of 2014
