Mark Cottrell wrote, "While going thru some stuff handed down to me from my parents Weston & Zell Cottrell, I found this May 1914 first Volume first issue of Poetry & Prose compiled by 1st thru 8th grade school children that were attending Central School in Mason City. My grandmother Luda Henrietta Smith was in the 8th grade at this time & a short poem by her is in this issue. I am sending all the pages included, as I thought it was quite interesting & the issue is so frail, I thought I had better take pics of the pages before it is totally gone. I thought some of the other kids who wrote in this might be people of interest to other Mason City family researchers.
