The Clear Lake High School Dance Team will compete in the 2008 Iowa State Dance/Drill Team Championship which will be held at Veterans Memorial Auditorium and HyVee Hall on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1. There will be 275 high school teams and 15 college dance teams in the competition performing 520 routines during the two-day competition. There will be close to 5,000 participants. The ISDTA will also be hosting the Second Annual Iowa College Dance Competition on Friday Nov. 30.

The team competed on Friday, Nov. 30 at the State Team Competition. The group brought home three trophies, a fourth place in Pom, a fifth place finish in Hip-Hop and a fifth place finish in Jazz. They also brought home an award for academic excellence.

On Saturday, Nov. 3, five girls competed in the State Solo Competition. Those competing included Alexis ENTNER, Megan OTT, Rachel HEWITT, Jenna KIBSGAARD, and Hailey HUEY. ENTNER, OTT and HUEY all received superior ratings and medals for their solo performances.

Team will perform Thursday night between the JV and Varisty wrestling meets in the Clear Lake High School Gym.
