The Clear Lake girls used a tremendous team effort to dominate Webster City in a 58-29 victory Friday, Dec. 11. The conference win lifted the Lions to 2-2. Coach Kay BACON said her offense and defense took each possession seriously and it made an impact on the game from start to finish. "The depth on our team has already started to pay off," said BACON. "Players coming off the bench understand their role on the team and help to keep us strong throughout all four quarters." Nine out of 10 members of the team scored and all played tough defense, said the coach. Macey HANSEN led the Lions with 12 points and nine rebounds. Erika LOVIK also pulled down nine rebounds to go along with her nine points. Rea FABER also scored nine and Brita HAND added eight points. FABER and HAND also pressured the Lynx and made four and five steals respectively. As a team, the Lions made 21 steals in the game. Ashley WILLMS and Sara Jo RANER had six points apiece, Kathryn NIEMAN and Taylor THENHAUS had three each and Taylor DIEHL had two points.
