Kenneth J. (Kenny), Van Zile, 60, of Lincoln NE., passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Kenny was born to Raymond J. and Bernadette M. (Goetzinger) Van Zile on June 8, 1957 in Washington, IA. He attended Catholic Grade Schools and graduated from Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City, IA. in 1976. After graduation Kenny worked at McDonalds and joined the U.S. Navy in April 1979. He received an Honorable Discharge in January 1982. Following his service in the Navy, Kenny moved to Fremont NE. and later to Bellevue, NE. where he worked for Honda Cars of Bellevue until he became ill and could no longer work.

Kenny enjoyed sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Twins and Vikings and his favorite baseball team the Chicago Cubs. Kenny shared his love of sports with family and friends. He enjoyed golfing with his Dad and brothers, and mini golfing with his sister. He bowled for 10 years on DJ's Dugout team in Bellevue NE.

Kenny took great pride in his cars. Over the years you saw him in Cougars, Monte Carlos, or his red Camaro and all were waxed and shined to perfection.

Kenny is survived by: his mother Bernadette, brothers: Bob, Charlie, Rich and sisters: Carol (Terry) Boyle and Connie (James) Schwartz.

Kenny was preceded in death by: his father Raymond, sisters in law Cheryl (Rich) Van Zile, Lyndee Dahlof and great niece EvyLynn Dee Van Zile.

In Lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the ALS Association Mid-America Chapter or to the Disabled Veterans of America.

A memorial mass will be held Saturday, July 22, at Epiphany/Holy Family Church, 722 N Adams Avenue Street in Mason City, IA. at 10:30 a.m. A light lunch will be provided at Epiphany/Holy Family Church after the burial for family and friends. Burial will be at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery located at 1224 South Washington in Mason City.
