MASON CITY —Thomas Joe Bagur 49, of 711 S. Vine Street, Glenwood, Iowa, died Monday (Dec. 25, 2006) at the Jennie-Edmundson Hospital, Council Bluffs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with Major Chuck Wright officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.

Memorials may be given to the Thomas Joe Bagur Memorial Fund, c/o Leonard Johnson, 922 N. Federal, Mason City, IA 50401.

Thomas Joe Bagur was born Sept. 18, 1957, the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Hewett) Bagur. Thomas graduated from Mason City High School in 1976. After graduation he worked at Perkins.

Thomas moved to Marshalltown, where he met Mariam Riser. They were united in marriage and to this union two sons were born. They moved to Mason City to raise their children.

Thomas moved to Glenwood in 2000, and lived at Glenwood Resource Center.

Thomas enjoyed football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers, watching movies, dancing, races, volunteering for the Salvation Army bell ringing and spending time with family and friends. Thomas attended the Omaha Citadel. He was a member of the Salvation Army.

Thomas is survived by his mother, Elizabeth “Carroll” Johnson, of Mason City; children, Thomas Bagur and Nathan Bagur, both of Grinnell; two grandsons and one granddaughter; siblings, Charles (Dian) Bagur, of Mason City, Jean (Barry) Yamagata, of Mason City, Mike (Lori) Bagur, of Mason City, Richard (Tana) Bagur, Leonard (Leslie) Johnson, of Mason City; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Thomas is preceded in death by his twin brother, Johnny Bagur; father, Robert Bagur; stepfather Leonard Johnson; and grandparents, Chuck and Ruth Hewett and Gertrude Bagur.
