THORNTON, May 17 - Mr. and Mrs. Niels HANSEN celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. They
were married in Denmark, May 11, 1884, and came to Thornton in 1901 where they settled on a farm. They lived there 16
years and then moved into Thornton where they have remained ever since. They operated a restaurant and a meat market when
they moved here and then retired. There are seven children, six of whom were born in Europe and one here. They are:
Mrs. Hans JOHNSON, Midland, S. Dak.; Niels HANSEN, Jr., Milwaukee; Hans J. HANSEN, Clinton; Mrs. Byron WESTOVER, Swaledale;
Carl M. HANSEN, Hollywood, Cal.; Mrs. Nick CHRISTENSEN, St. Paul; and Mrs. Lester RIGGENBERGER, Newton. There are
fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all living. Members of the Quality club of which Mrs. HANSEN is a mamber
spent the afternoon and ate supper with Mr. and Mrs. HANSEN. In the evening, the Danish Lutheran Ladies' aid and members of
the church came in. A ceremony was read by the Rev. JORGENSEN of Coulter. The couple was remembered with gifts.
