Leo Born, 304 1/2 Second street southeast, holds his photograph of the new Mason City water tower, which won top honors in the contest sponsored by Decker Brothers Sporting Goods store, Mason City. More than 70 entries in the contest were taken to Iowa State College [present day Iowa State University], Ames, where they were judged by Dr. Percy H. Carr, Dr. G. W. Fox, Marjorie Bonine Fox and S. A. Brose. Dr. Carr was one of the three judges of the International Salon exhibit at the Des Moines Y.M.C.A. (Lock photo, Kayenay engraving.)
