Capt. and Mrs. Robert Stigleman and family were honored Sunday evening at a farewell gathering at the
YWCA attended by some 200 Salvation Army members and friends. the Stiglemans, who have headed Salvation Army work here
the last seven years, move to an assignment in Des Moines Wednesday. Mayor George E. Mendon, the Rev. Marvin Hulse, Mason
City Ministerial Assn. president, and Harold Walton, Salvation Army advisory board president, spoke of
the growth of Salvation Army services and facilities here during the Stiglemans' time in Mason City. They extended this
community's best wishes for the Stiglemans in their new post. Lt. Lucy Kinney of the Salvation Army was master of
ceremonies and spoke for the local Salvation Army members. A gift from the local members was presented. Capt. Stigleman
expressed appreciation for the help of the community during his seven years here. His wife led the group in prayer.
Refreshments were served.
