Miss Catharine PAULUS, daughter of John PAULUS of Rockford, became the bride of James Joseph DOUGHERTY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick DOUGHERTY of Dougherty, Oct. 1 in the Holy Name church at Rockford with the Rev. T. J. CONROY officiating.

Three cousins of the bride, Nicholas PAULUS, Billy PAULUS and Jimmy SAYLOR, were acolytes. Music was provided by James and Pat BOYLE. Miss Patricia DOUGHERTY, sister of the bridegroom, and Jake PAULUS, brother of the bride, attended the couple.

A wedding dinner was served to 65 relatives and friends at the Covered Wagon in Mason City and the couple left on a week's trip to Minneapolis, after which they will be at home on a farm near Dougherty. She is a graduate of Rockford high school and Iowa State Teachers college and has taught at Dougherty. He attended St. Patrick's school at Dougherty.
