CLEAR LAKE -- Bynum C. JACOBSEN, who is at Camp Elliott, San Diego, Cal, was advanced to the rank of sergeant Sep., 1, it was learned Friday.

He writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris JACOBSEN, 119 West Benton street, that he is literally "on the jump" from 7 o'clock in the morning until 8 o'clock in the evening seven days a week but hopes to have a five day furlough soon. Sergeant JACOBSEN is a parachute jumpber and finds the work thrilling.
