PFC. SEWARD MISSING IN ACTION
in GERMANY SINCE NOVEMBER 8

Entered the Service Last February and Overseas Since June

Pfc. Charles R. SEWARD has been missing in action in Germany since Nov. 8, his wife, Mrs. Delores [Delores Evelyn (OSBORNE)] SEWARD, 1205 Georgia S. E., was informed by a telegram from the war department Saturday.

Pfc. SEWARD was 2nd gunner with the 28th division and had served in France and Belgium before going to Germany. He had received a medal for expert in gunnery. He entered the service last February and went overseas in June.

As a civilian, Pfc. SEWARD was employed at the Gibbs-Cook tractor Equipment company here. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess BACKEMAN, 33 20th S. W.

NOTE: Charles was held as a German prisoner of war. He was repatriated and returned to life in Mason City.
