Mier Wolf (1871-1938), a furniture merchant, was the owner and operator of Mier Wolf and Sons, a mainstay in downtown Mason City
for over a half a century. He served on the Board of Directors of the Mason City Building and Loan
Association and on the Board of Directors for Northwest Savings Bank of Mason City. He was interred at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.
Mier Wolf built his Prairie School styled house in 1909.
Agnes Ann (Irish) was born on October 24, 1931, Salix, Iowa, the daughter of Claude Clement and Ona May (Kidder)
Irish. She married on June 21, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Joseph Critelli. Agnes died on April 21, 2003 at
Dubuque, Iowa, and was interred at Linwood Cemetery.
The Mier Wolf House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places
January 29, 1980.
