BULLETIN BOARD HONORS SERVICEMEN

[Section 8, Page 15] On a Sunday morning in November, 1944, the Grace Evangelical Church dedicated a bulletin board in honor of the servicemen and women of the congregation. The new board, which bore the inscription "In Honor of Veterans of World War II," was unveiled by Mrs. E. E. Driskel, chairman of the national service committee of the Ladies Aid Society of the church, who is shown here with Pfc. Warren Sprau, who was home on furlough after 33 months overseas. Pfc. Sprau, who threw the switch which lighted the bulletin board for the first time, was among the first seven whose names were placed on the service roll of the church as the time the National Guard left for Camp Claiborne, La., in February, 1941.
