Page 29, Line 24: A.M. Jacobs name is Alexander. His farm was the location of a Post
Office in spring of 1884 originally named Struble, after Congressman I.N. Struble of
Plymouth Co. Iowa. About a month later the name was changed to Arthur in honor of
President Chester Alan Arthur because Plymouth County, Iowa had a town named Struble
already.
Page 30, Line 7: Frank is a female named Frances Ethel Cain, but called Frank by the
family.
Page 36, Line 3: David Miller Birth place is ditto marked for Linn County, Iowa. After
is written Not Known and a line drawn through the words. The enumerator tallied the
column at the bottom of the page and the tally mark indicates Linn County for David.
Under Parentage of Father and Mother are single ditto mark (instead of a double ditto
mark) that would indicate the same as above, which would be N for Native for both
Father and Mother. This ditto mark is out of context for this enumerator based on all
other entries.
Page 36, Line 31: Jacob Miller Place of Birth. Enumerator started to write S for Sac
County and changed to Ida.
Page 41, Line 20: Surname of Head of Family is clearly written as Wolever. However the
next 3 listings of the same family are clearly spelled Wollaver.
