  No line numbers appear on the original census but have been assigned to indicate the
  enumeration order.  Page numbers are handwritten.  Page totals written by the
  enumerator were not included, but can be made available for in-depth study.

  Pages 17-19 labeled by the census taker as the "Western part of Des Moines County" have
  been indentified by Rich Lowe (IAGenWeb coordinator for Van Buren County) as the portion
  now Van Buren County.

    by H Bateman Dpt Shff"
  Page 20 - "County of Desmoines Wisconsin Territory} I do hereby certify that the within
    and foregoing is a true and correct list of the census of the Western part of said
    County as taken by me.  August 9th A.D. 1836. Henry Bateman Dpt Shf for Solomon
    Perkinns Sherriff"
  Page 28 (8 lines down) - "Burlington Census" written to indicate the start of Burlington
