The 91st anniversary of the organization of the Old Settlers association of Cedar Co. Iowa was held at the Court house June 10, 1927, 11 o’clock. Secretary being the only one present this being the 56 meeting of the association.

1:30 P.M. Meeting called to order by the Secretary Judge Moffet was elected Chairman of the meeting. Prayer by Rev. W. E. VanBuren. Music by Ladies Quartet. Minutes of the last meeting read. Reading of the obituaries of which there were 93 read and there was one not heard of till after the meeting making 94 for the year. Report of committees. Election of officers which was as follows: President W. T. Gilmore, Vice. Pres. Mrs. I. J. Hamiel, Executive committee: H. R. Ripley, Charles Schwartzland, Merl Clark, J. T. Walters, H. W. 1. Elias Sailor was born in Carol Co. Ohio May 14, 1842. Came to Cedar Co. in 1855. He was married to Rosa Longerbeam March 11, 1869. Died at his home near Lisbon, Ia. June 11, 1927, age 85 yrs. and 28 days

2. Eliza Catherine (Wagaman) Stout was born at Versaillles, Ohio Aug. 9, 1862, came to Cedar Co. Iowa in 1869. Married David Edwards on Feb. 27, 1878, who died in1881. Married Charles Stout Dec. 31, 1884. Passed away in Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids June 4, 1927, 64 yrs. 10 months and 5 days.

3. Kathryne Mary (Mahoney) Dunn was born at Tipton, Iowa Sep. 5, 1868. Married Thomas L. Dunn April 25, 1892. Died at Valley Junction, Ia. June 16, 1927. Age 59 yrs. 2 months and 18 days.

4. Levi Dorcas was born in Red Oak Township Cedar Co. June 14, 1857. Died at his home in Lisbon Iowa June 18, 1927, age 70 years 4 days.

5. Nathaniel Wilson Macy was born in Indiana March 25, 1848. Came to Springdale Iowa in 1861. Died at his home in Pasadena, Cali. Age 79 yrs.

6. Miss Hannah W. Murray was born Nov. 9, 1879 in Red Oak Township Cedar Co. Iowa. Died June 20th 1927, age 47 yrs. 7 months and 11 days.

7. Rosie (Busien) Armstrong was born in Cedar Co. Iowa June 27, 1878. Married Wm. Armstrong June 12, 1912. Passed away June 30, 1927 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Ia. Age 49 yrs. and 8 days.

8. Louis Achenbach was born in Schuylkill, Penn. Feb. 5, 1847. Married Elizabeth Zerbe Jan. 8, 1870. Immediately after getting married they came to Cedar Bluffs, Iowa. Died July 8, 1927. Age 80 yrs. 5 months 8 days.

9. Mrs. Mary (Lightfoot) Alden came to Tipton, Iowa in the early 70’s. Died at the home of her daughter in Aurora, Neb. Age 81 years.

10. Mrs. Henry S. Fristoe was born in Hopedale, Guerney Co., Ohio April 7, 1858. Married Henry S. Fristoe in May 1922. Died at her home in Moline, Ill. July 26, 1927. Age 69 yrs., 3 months and 19 days.

11. Stewart William was born in Cedar Co. Iowa March 26, 1856. Died July 26, 1927, age 71 yrs. 3 months.

12. Mrs. Minnie (Werling) Shaffer was born Pomeroy, O., Jan. 24, 1851. Passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Joe Patterson on July 26, 1927. Age 76 yrs. 6 months and 2 days.

13. Mrs. Effie Murray (Shearer) Cochran was born in Tipton, Iowa March 20, 1857 and died in Des Norte, Colo. July 21, 1927. Age 70 yrs. 4 months and 1 day.

14. Christen W. Larue was born in Cedar Co. Ia. Dec. 10, 1872. He was united in marriage to Edna Mae Yarrington Jan. 1, 1899. Died at his home in Tipton, Iowa age 54 yrs. 8 months and 5 days.

15. George Andrew Gay was born Aug. 24, 1859 in Cedar Co. Iowa. Married Miss Ella Busier of Tipton Nov. 15, 1904. Died at his late home in Chicago, Ill. Aug. 27, 1927. Age 68 years and 8 days.

16. William M. Alden was born June 29, 1860 at Union, Ill. Came to Tipton, Iowa in 1865. Killed in collision with an automobile near York, Neb.

17. Julia Josephine (Doyle) Ryan was born Sep. 21, 1858 at Tipton, Iowa. On Nov. 13, 1889 she was united in marriage to Reuben Ryan. Died at her home in Brooklin, Ia. Aug. 21, 1927. Age 68 years and 11 months.

18. Mrs. Sarah Linn Chapman of Mechanicsville died at the home of her daughter Mrs. N. F. Purcell Feb. 7, 1927. Age 92 yrs.

19. Mrs. Letitia (Briggs) Helmer was born in Cheyohaga, Ca. Ohio Nov. 9, 1849. Married O. H. Helmer May 20, 1869. Passed away Sep. 9, 1927. Age 77 yrs. and 11 months.

20. Thomas Baldwin was born near Cedar Bluffs, Iowa Oct. 2, 1863. On March 28, 1893 he married Miss Clara Airgood. Death called him Sep. 12, 1927. Age 63 yrs. 11 months and 20 days.

21. William Benjamin Dotson was born July 4, 1855 in Van Buren Co., Ia. At an early age came to Cedar Co. Ia. On Nov. 27, 18769 married Miss Sadie Nebergall. Married second time Oct. 1884 to Miss Anna Blair. Died Sep. 22, 1927, age 72 yrs.

22. Mrs. Bridget (Cady) Doyle was born in Ireland in Nov. 1846. Came to Cedar Co. Iowa when 21 yrs. of age. She was married to Michael Doyle in 1871. Died at her home in Tipton, Ia. Oct. 1927, age 81 years.

23. Shannan (Goodrich) Britcher was born April 19, 1847 in Red Oak Grove, Cedar Co. Ia. Married Henry Britcher May 15, 1894. Died at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Ia. age 80 yrs. 5 months and 29 days.

25. Charles Franklin Bair was born near Rochester, Cedar Co. Ia. Jan. 13, 1848. Passed away at his late home near Rochester Oct. 26, 1927. Age 79 yrs., 9 months and 13 days.

26. Mrs. J. C. Wright was born near Somerset, Ia. April 5, 1856. Married to J. C. Wright in 1878. Died at her home in Plato, Iowa Nov. 13, 1927. Age 71 years, 7 months and 8 days.

27. Mrs. Jennie Dean passed away at her home in Clarence, Iowa, Nov. 15, 1927, age 93 years.

28. Wm. H. Hartwig was born in Germany Dec. 29, 1853. Came to Cedar Co. in 1871. In 1884 he was married to Miss Emma Meuller. Died at his home in Clarence, Ia. Nov. 14, 1927. Age 73 yrs., 10 months and 15 days.

29. Leroy S. Carpenter was born at Newville, Ohio, Aug. 18, 1843. Married Miss Martha Allen Bennett April 25, 1872. Died at his home in Greely, Colo. Nov. 20, 1927. Age 84 yrs. 3 mo. and 2 days.

30. Chas. E. Wheeler was born in Albion, Ind. Sep. 5, 1851. Came to Iowa in 1863. Married Miss Ella Fraseur. Passed at his home in Cedar Rapids, Ia. Nov. 28, 1927. Age 86 yrs. 2 months and 23 days.

31. Mary C. Fleming was born in Tipton, Iowa Oct. 29, 1855 and passed to her eternal rest Dec. 12, 1927. Age 72 yrs. 1 mo. and 13 days.

32. Oliver S. Johnson was born near Mechanicsville, Ia. Nov. 8, 1871. On March 30, 1892 he was united in marriage to Susan Ethel Yule who died June 8, 1909. On Sept. 13, 1910 he was again united in marriage to Margaret Eloise Sailor. He passed away at the University Hospital, Iowa City, Ia. on Dec. 13, 1927. Age 56 years, 8 months and 13 days.

33. Willard H. Maxson was born in Cedar Co. Ia. Nov. 5, 1845. Married Rebecca Huchison Sep. 2, 1868. She died May 13, 1893. June 19, 1894 he married Mrs. Laura Vane who died April 19, 1914. He married Mrs. Bertha Carlson. He died at Springdale Dec. 6, 1927. Age 82 years, 1 month, 1 day.

35. Mrs. Candace Sechler was born in Lycoming Co. Penn. Oct. 1, 1837. Came to Cedar Co. Iowa in 1868. Married Harman P. Sechlin Feb. 15, 1866. Died Dec. 23, 1927, age 90 yrs., 2 months and 22 days.

36. James Wesley Gano was born in Martensburg, West Virginia on Dec. 24, 1842. On Nov. 9, 1866 he was united in marriage to Leah Emmarila Ayers. Died Dec. 28, 1927, age 85 yrs. and 4 days.

37. Mrs. Fannie (Plank) Darger was born in Cedar Co. Ia. Feb. 17, 1862. In 1881 she was married to G. F. Darger. Passed away at her home in Sioux City, Iowa, age 65 years.

38. Jacob L. Walter was born in Easton Penn June 18, 1837. Came to Cedar Co. Ia. in 1868. Married Miss Aletta Stryker in 1859. She died in 1886. Married Mrs. Barbara Hawkins at Marengo, Ia. She died in 1901. Married again in 1903 in N.Y. Miss Elizabeth Scott. Died at his home in Lincoln, Neb. Jan. 6, 1928, age 86 yr. 6 months 18 days.

39. Miss Evalana Kleppe was born Sep. 14, 1873 in Cedar Co. Iowa. She passed away Jan. 22, 1928 at Colorado Springs, Colo.

40. Rev. A. G. Brande was born at West Gardiner, Maine Aug. 22, 1840. Died at his home in Pierce, Neb. Jan. 10, 1928 in his 88th year.

41. Charles B. Andre he was born near Mechanicsville, Ia. July 29, 1859. Married Miss Elizabeth Landahl. Died Jan. 21, 1928, age 68 yrs. 5 months and 22 days.

42. C. S. McClung was born April 7, 1863 near Tipton, Cedar Co. Ia. On November 2, 1881 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Louise Burk. Passed away at his home in South Pasadena, Cal. January 24, 1928 at the age of 64 yrs., 9 months and 7 days.

43. J. W. Tuthill died Jan. 25, 1928 in Washington, D.C.

44. Cap. J. Sanford was born Feb. 26, 1837, in Vernon Jennings Co., Ind. He was united in marriage to Caroline R. Hepner May 3, 1861. Died Feb. 11, 1928 at the home of his daughter Mrs. B. C. Dillenbeck at Perry, Ia., age 90 yrs., 1 mo. and 15 days.

45. John Doyle was born in Tipton, Ia. April 21, 1858. He was married to Mary Conklin of Mount Vernon July 26, 1887. Died at his home in Cedar Rapids Feb. 13, 1928, age 69 yrs. 9 mo. and 22 days.

46. Carrie P. (Hammond) Staminger was born Jan. 6, 1851 at Camden, N.Y. Married John P. Shropshire July 1, 1866 who died on July 29, 1877. She was united in marriage to N. Stammger. Passed away at her home in Denison, Iowa Feb. 15, 1928, age 77 yr. 1 mo. and 9 days.

47. Edgar W. Rickard was born at Tipton, Ia. July 6, 1868. He was united in marriage to Mable Foy in 1890. Passed away at his late home in Las Animas, Col. Feb. 18, 1928, age 69 yrs., 7 mo. and 13 days.

48. Mrs. Caroline (Springer) Lang was born at Marion, Linn Co., Ia. Aug. 3, 1859. Came to Tipton when 1 yrs. old. Married Albert Lang of Tipton on Nov. 29, 1876. She passed away at her home in Tipton March 12, 1928, age 68 yrs. 7 month and 9 days.

49. Sarah M. (West) Bardue was born in Fayette Co. Ohio Aug. 28, 1842. She came to Iowa 1855. She was united in married to Robert Bardue on the 19th of April 1888. Died at her home in Mechanicsville, Ia. March 13, 1928, age 72 yrs. 6 mo. 15 days.

50. Mrs. G. W. Wallick. She was born in Cedar Co. Ia. March 17, 1871. Married G. W. Wallick March 24, 1892. Passed away at her home in Sterling, Ill. March 16, 1928, age 59 yrs.

51. Gertrude (Dewell) Freeman was born in Cedar Co. Ia. Passed away at her home in Clarence, Ia. Mar. 19, 1928.

52. Johnson Spear was born in County Tyrone, Ireland June 1, 1845. Came to the United States 1854 and to Tipton, Ia. in the fall of 1855. He was married to Elizabeth Elliot Jan. 5, 1872 who died March 21, 1895. On July 30, 1901 he married Lucy A. Cary. Died March 24, 1928, age 83 yrs., 9 months and 24 days.

53. Edward G. Filson was born in Tipton, Ia. Dec. 14, 1866. Was married here Jan. 9, 1895 to Miss Jessie Armstrong. Died March 25, 1928 at his home in Burlington, Ia. Aged 61 yrs. 3 months and 11 days.

54. Mrs. F. E. (Mathews) Charter was born in Tipton, Ia. Died at her home in Cedar Rapids March 26, 1928.

55. Mrs. Minnie Mae (Johnson) Pangburn was born near Tipton, Ia. June 29, 1866. She was united in marriage June 23, 1887. Her death occurred March 15, 1928 at her home in Faulkton, South Dakota, age 61 yrs. 8 months and 14 days.

56. Charles L. Cooley was born in Livingston Co. Ill. on June 25, 1869. Came to Cedar Co. in 1870. He was united in marriage in 1900 to Miss Emma Gritton. Passed away at his home in Rochester, Ia. March 31, 1928. Age 58 yrs. 9 months and 6 days.

57. Cyrus Dorcas was born near Livington, Richmond Co., Ohio. Oct. 10, 1850. Came to Ia. 1852 and Cedar Co. 1853. In April 1873 he married Eliza Hay. She died July 26, 1874 and he was married to Elizabeth Martin on May 30, 1878. He passed away at his home in Tipton, Ia. April 3, 1928, age 77 yrs. 5 months and 24 days.

58. Mrs. Maria (Bunker) Gonsolus was born in Cedar Co. Ia. Died at the home of her daughter in Davenport, Ia. April 1, 1928.

59. T. J. Carney was born in Cedar Co. Ia. Died at his home in Iowa township, Cedar Co. Ia. April 8, 1928.

60. Moses F. Bunker was born near Tipton, Ia. May 13, 1863. On the 28 of June 1888 he was united in marriage to Louise C. Garner. Died at his home in Tipton April 13, 1928, age 64 yr. and 11 months.

68. Charles C. Smith was born in Mecklenburg, Germany March 9, 1846. When 7 years old he came to Cedar Co. Ia. On Oct. 7, 1869, he was married to Mary J. Johnson. He passed away at the home of his son, Ernest in Mechanicsville, Iowa, May 26, 1928, aged 82 yr. 2 months and 17 days.

69. Lou Lyle died at his home, near Clarence, Iowa June 3rd, 1928, age 75 years.

70. Anna Wampler Sanford died at her home in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 2nd, 1928.

71. Harriet Elizabeth Kinch was born in Cedar Co. Ia. Feb. 9, 1861 and died at her home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Oct. 27, 1927, age 66 yr. 1 mo. 25 days.
