Researchers needing lookups in Cedar County sources
may request a free lookup. Please follow these simple guidelines:
-
Put CEDAR COUNTY LOOKUP in the subject line and the name of the source on
the first line of your message. Some volunteers have offered to do lookups
from more than one source and in more than one county. This will ensure that
your request is not overlooked.
-
Follow with the specific information you are looking for - one simple request
per e-mail - and please do not ask for "everybody with X surname," or for
hard copies to be mailed. Also, please comply with any additional restrictions
listed by the volunteer.
-
After receiving a response to your lookup request, remember to send a thank
you to the volunteer who helped you!
-
The Cedar County IAGenWeb needs volunteers who are willing to do lookups in their own
resources or at their local libraries at no charge. Everyone who owns or has access to any Cedar County information (such as census, cemetery, marriage,
scrapbooks, newspapers, etc.) and would be willing to do lookups for other researchers, please contact the
County Coordinator

"Title
Atlas Company 1965 Cedar County, Iowa Atlas".The Atlas lists approximately
1,800 families living in Cedar County in 1965. A typical family listing has
the names of both spouses, the name of the wife's father, the names of the
children (and some spouses of children), occupation, religion, location, and
other miscellaneous information.
I also subscribe to Ancestry.com, Heritage Quest, and Newspaperarchive.com
databases. My personal Family Tree Maker file has more than 158,000
individuals, with prime focus in Jones County but much spill-over into Cedar
County. |
