CLARENCE. Population, 662. An incorporated town on the C. & N. W. Ry., in Dayton township, Cedar county, 12 miles n. e. of Tipton, the county seat, 35 e. of Cedar Rapids and 47 w. of Clinton. Has Catholic, German Evangelical, Methodist and Presbyterian churches, a graded public school, 2 banks and a weekly newspaper, the Sun. Tel., W C Exp. Am. Telephone connection.
