REBEKAH LODGE BEGINS HERE IN OCTOBER, 1902
Helping Hand Rebekah Lodge No. 517 was organized in Tipton Oct. 24, 1902,.with fifty charter members. The lodge was started upstairs in the building occupied by Randa's Market, and still owned by the 1. O. O. F. lodge.
Mrs. Clara Casterline is the only living charter member still active in the organization. Several of the others who are still here have dropped out.

COMMENCEMENT DAY AT TIPTON SCHOOL JUNE 7, 1948
The Annual Connnencement exercises for the Eighth Grade graduates of the Cedar County Rural Schools will be held in the Tipton School Auditorium, at 2:30 Monday afternoon, June 7. Miss Ruth Wagner of the Publications Division of the Iowa State Education Association is to give the commencement address, while the musical numbers will be under the direction of Mr. H. Dale Findley of the Tipton Public School.
This year's class includes thirty members, which is somewhat smaller than usual due to gradual tendency to close rural schools.
