Editor's Note: The Lincoln Highway was later named Highway 30. The first Highway 30 (now known as Old Highway 30) came into Lowden from the west and continued the full length of Main Street.

. . . . summertime – how we looked forward to when the huge tent was put up on an empty lot in southeast Lowden. Here the Marshalltown Players would present a play. Between acts, crackerjacks, etc. were sold
