Support Our Community

     The Support Our Community or SOC club was formed in April 1982. The purpose of the club is to sponsor activities during the year and any money made is to be used to help smaller organizations and better our community.

     Officers elected at this first meeting were: President, Marty Shriver; Vice-President and Treasurer, Helen Lund and Secretary, Wanda Anderson

     Some projects we help with each year are: Nursing Home Baby Contest, Easter Egg Hunt, Resident-Family picnic at the Nursing Home, Kids’ Halloween party, Christmas drawing and Santa Claus Day and the Christmas party at the Nursing Home. We also sponsor the Girl Scouts and other projects during the year.

     Officers for 1984-85 are President, Helen Lund; Vice-President and Treasurer, Wanda Anderson and Secretary, Rosie McAtee.
