The Quilters

Formed originally as a Christian Social Service Group in 1944 for the dual opportunity of Church related work and fellowship among the members. For a time these meetings were held afternoons, but became all day sessions when the group realized it might be an opportunity for many of the members to enjoy a good potluck dinner. Early in its existence not everyone quilted so some members prepared carpet rags, cut and pieced quilt blocks. Today the only activity is quilting with the income from this business being divided among the various homes sponsored by the denomination.
