King’s Daughters Circle

Way back in the 1920’s, Reverend Karl Fauth, pastor of St. John’s, desired to have groups of women out in the country, get together and form service groups. Thus, the King’s Daughters Aid was formed, with the first meeting at the home of Mrs. Louis (Anna) Kreinbring and of course “coffee” was enjoyed at the close of the meeting. A charter member, Augusta Bergmann, is still living. They pieced quilts and quilted them for anyone who wanted one. They served at farm sales, and in times of distress donated food and clothing for those in need.

Today, now called King’s Daughters Circle, does pretty much the same, serving for weddings, anniversaries and funerals-money earned is sent to Church related homes. The Special School in Tipton is our Special Project. We also play bingo and furnish fruit at the Clarence Nursing Home. One thing we still do, as they had done way back then, is to have the “Men’s Meeting” when the husbands are invited for a potluck supper and social evening.

Our present officers are Vivian Thien, Darlene Hulse, Carol Schroeder and Dorothy Conrad.
