Civil War Veterans Buried in Cedar County

This page began as "Civil War Veterans Buried in Cedar County" but has changed to include known burials of Cedar County Veterans in other places. Sources include the original list of those buried in Cedar County, the book "Stones and Sights", the Gravestone Photo Project and individual submissions. Information on Jacob Davis is from his great-grandson Jack W. Davis. Steve Hanken has also submitted a number of burials. Note: W have been unable to find the stones for some of the listed soldiers and some have been located outside Cedar County. For example, the only William Barrick found in Cedar County died in 1912 and is buried at Red Oak Cemetery. His middle initial is J, while a William N. Barrick died in 1905 and is buried in San Diego, CA. There are two Benjamin Brosserts in Clarence cemetery, neither with the correct death date. There are two John Safleys at Red Oak, neither with correct dates. Because of these and other discrepancies, researchers, as always, should not use this list as their only resource.
