West Branch Friends 1853-1879
Cedar County, Iowa
The cemetery was located between the Friends' meeting house and the school. In 1878, the Friends decided the burying ground was too small and closed the cemetery "except in certain exceptional cases." The new cemetery became known as the West Branch Cemetery. No stones remain. The following names are on a monument based on known burials.
The name on the monument, erected in June 1993, is Friends Village Cemetery, because it was a public cemetery.
