What was added in 2013?


November 17, 2013:  Added transcription of Chapter 13 - Lincoln Township from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.

November 10, 2013:  Added transcription of Chapter 8 - Edna Township from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.

November 9, 2013:  Added transcriptions of the Preface and Chapter 1 from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.

September 26, 2013:  Added a page with infomation about Morrison Cemetery, which was located west of Anita in Grant Township, southeast of the Anita Sale Barn.

August 29, 2013:  Added transcriptions of two chapters from Historical Sketches of Iowa Baptists, containing information about the early Baptist church in Cass County. Many thanks to Constance Diamond for transcribing these pages for Cass County!

August 20, 2013:  Added transcriptions and images of Edmund Manley's 1855 Land Patent, Chris and Mary Peterson's 1870 Marriage Certificate, and Chris and Elsie Mary Peterson's 1884 Marriage Certificate to the Cass County Documents Board.

August 11, 2013:  Added transcriptions of four more sections from the Lafe Young's 1877 History of Cass County Together with Brief Mention of Old Settlers (County Buildings, County Officers, Present County Officers and Associations).

August 5, 2013:  Added transcriptions of three more sections from the Lafe Young's 1877 History of Cass County Together with Brief Mention of Old Settlers (Coffin Case, Atlantic, Official Record).

August 4, 2013:  Added transcriptions of four more sections from the Lafe Young's 1877 History of Cass County Together with Brief Mention of Old Settlers (Anita, Lewis, Marne & Wiota).

August 3, 2013:  Added three more sections of Lafe Young's 1877 History of Cass County Together with Brief Mention of Old Settlers (Grove City through Miscellaneous Items).

August 2, 2013:  Added transcriptions of the first seven sections of Lafe Young's 1877 History of Cass County Together with Brief Mention of Old Settlers (Preface through Indiantown).

July 29, 2013:  Added complete outline of contents of Lafe Young's 1877 History of Cass County Together with Brief Mention of Old Settlers. Keep checking back for new transcriptions - our goal is to gradually transcribe the entire volume!

July 18, 2013:  Added the biography of Thomas Coon, transcribed from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.

April 15, 2013:  Added 5 Cass County biographies from The United States Biographical Dictionary and Portrait Gallery of Eminent and Self-Made Man, Iowa Volume.

April 13, 2013:  Added 2 Cass County biographies from the 1914 Blue Book of Iowa Women. Also added transcription of The Press of Atlantic from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.

April 12, 2013:  Updated the Main Census Page to add links for the 1885 and 1895 Iowa State Census at the LDS website (index and original images are available). Made minor formatting updates to various pages and corrected several broken links. Added Cass County Korean War and Vietnam War Casualties.

April 4, 2013:  Added biography of W.M. and F.M. Nichols from the 1913 Industrial Edition.

April 3, 2013:  Added biography of Dr. J. Nichols from the 1884 History of Cass County and Dr. Jonathan Nichols, WIlliam Nichols and Frank Nichols from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.

March 1, 2013:  Added a number of advertisements from the 1913 Industrial Edition (ads from pages 5, 7, 11 and 13).

February 28, 2013:  Added 3 additional sections from the 1913 Industrial Edition, including the remainder of the Manufacturing section, J. Burnea's advertisement, and The Automobile section.

February 27, 2013:  Added 21 more biographies from the Iowa Press Association's Who Who in Iowa (1940) (O'Connor through Robertson). Cass County entries 1940 Who's Who entries are now fully transcribed.

February 26, 2013:  Added 1 more biography (Jeremiah Balding) from the 1884 History of Cass County Iowa, and 13 more biographies from the Iowa Press Association's Who Who in Iowa (1940) (McCauley through Nichols). Added 3 short biographies from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography (Balding, Berg and McGee).

February 25, 2013:  Added 20 more biographies from the Iowa Press Association's Who Who in Iowa (1940) (Jeck through Lynch).

February 23, 2013:  Added 29 more biographies from the Iowa Press Association's Who Who in Iowa (1940) (Faulkner through Irving).

February 13, 2013:  Updated the Cass County Genealogical Society page to add info about their new Facebook group. Added 23 more biographies from the Iowa Press Association's Who Who in Iowa (1940) (Roe through Trailer).

January 30, 2013:  Added 16 more biographies from the Iowa Press Association's Who Who in Iowa (1940) (Vetter through Ziegler).

January 28, 2013:  Updated the Cass County Genealogical Society page with the 2013 officers. Moved
What's New 2012 entries to separate archival page.

January 27, 2013:  Added 12 more biographies from the Iowa Press Association's Who Who in Iowa (1940) (Dalton through Eustis).

January 21, 2013:  Added Wiota High School Alumni 1898-1940 transcribed from a booklet printed for the 2005 Wiota All School Reunion.
