Pleasant Twp. District #9 Schoolhouse - Deed

Pleasant Township was originally part of Cass Township, and was established from it in 1870 when the county was reorganized to make civil townships align with congressional. The deed below is for what became Pleasant Twp. Schoolhouse #9. The CCGS does not have an alternate/common name for this particular schoolhouse. Does anyone know of one? If so, please contact the Cass County Coordinator.

The contributor wrote: "My ancestors, John and Mary J. Clark, sold one acre of land to a school district in 1869. The location was in the extreme southwestern corner of Pleasant Township: section 31, township 74, range 37. ... My ancestors moved to Marshall County, KS, in the 1880s after a brief time in southeastern Nebraska. I only recently discovered this additional deed involving the family."
